Pros
The kids are amazing and you can have a real impact on their lives, if the higher-ups don't ruin that opportunity. The kids need so much support and so I don't want to deter good counselors from working here. If you can handle the hostile work environment, then please work here.
Cons
The staff are cruel, unethical, harmful, emotionally abusive, and unprofessional. I was shocked by the expectations placed on me with no actual training. It felt as if I was set up for failure. No matter what I did, it was never good enough. I received zero supervision on how to work with the kids because they only focused on my personal life and relationships with my parents. The questions they would ask me were very unethical and possibly illegal. I know they asked one therapist if she had ever been sexually abused and I couldn't believe she didn't sue them. If you have any history of substance use, they make you take UAs whenever "they" feel like you might be using substances again. It's very sad because these children need great therapists and the staff push therapists to a breaking point where they can no longer be of service to the children, it breaks my heart. I hope this place changes its ways.
