Pros

Working at Thomas Edison Electric Inc. for the past 1.5 years has been a truly rewarding experience. The work culture is both collaborative and supportive, with teamwork being the top priority. The company genuinely values client satisfaction, which fosters a sense of purpose in our daily tasks. Although the work can be fast-paced, the appreciation shown by both management and my colleagues makes it worthwhile. Management is approachable and understanding, creating an environment where employees feel comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance. They set clear performance expectations but also recognize that growth takes time. The emphasis on training and professional development has been instrumental in my journey here. I’ve had ample opportunities for career advancement, especially in my role managing the Corporate Fleet. Collaborating closely with the CEO and Vice-President has allowed me to see how dedicated the company is to delivering world-class service, which is evident in our interactions with clients and our community. Additionally, the benefits are competitive, including fully covered health insurance and a matching 401k plan. The salary is also aligned with industry standards, and there are opportunities for growth if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Cons

While my experience at Thomas Edison Electric Inc. has been largely positive, there are challenges worth noting. One of the main issues is the occasional difficulty in maintaining a work-life balance. Although management encourages taking personal time, the availability of overtime can sometimes make it challenging to say no. This can lead to longer hours, which may not suit everyone. Another challenge is the steep learning curve that comes with the role. You’re expected to adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment, which can be overwhelming for new employees. While mistakes are welcomed as learning opportunities, it can still be stressful when trying to meet client expectations and perform at a high level. Lastly, communication can sometimes be a bit scattered, especially when multiple teams are involved in a project. This can lead to misunderstandings or delays, which can impact client service.
