Pros

I have met and worked alongside some great people at Thomson Reuters.

Cons

If you are a man and are older than 40 - you don't stand a chance at Thomson Reuters. Cowardly leadership and support. They don't stand behind employees, not do they care about your service with the company. Pay is below industry standards and cost of living increases are terrible as well. Great place to work if you simply want a job with no advancement - just come to work, do your job, be quiet, collect your paycheck and life is good. Culture is so fake and the people are so self-unaware that they actually think they are doing a good job of building a new culture, when they are really just fostering the "worker bee" mentality. Do yourself a favor....find a job at a company that cares about the individual more than winning hollow awards and trying to get people to think that Thomson is a great place to work. It is not. I am actually ashamed to tell people that I work at Thomson Reuters knowing what I now know.

Pros

Nothing. I guess the benefits is good?

Cons

Terrible, I don’t think I can even tell my friends about this company. Recently had a HR problem, more so it was my boss who threatened and harassed me in order to quit. He couldn’t tell me he was facing budget cuts because of NEW directors in charge. Would not recommend and highly do not think much about this company. Everyone in the office is usually older and been there for sometime. Not that its a bad thing, but new faces is good except they do not have actual training for you. Highly do not recommend.

More Outsourcing and Layoffs

Pros

Lots of great people to work with. Even during the layoffs and outsourcing, everyone sticks together to help each other out during their job search.

Cons

All good things come to an end. There is lots of pressure to reduce costs since revenues are not meeting plan. This is being accomplished through layoffs and outsourcing. Within the past two weeks, TR announced a 2,000 person payoff. Also, the development and maintenance of many products lines are getting outsourced to off-shore companies.
