Layoffs layoffs and more layoffs

Pros

- Class leading product - Great talent and people

Cons

Whenever i mention to my friends that ThoughtSpot just had another round of layoffs, they react by saying: "Again?" "Didn't you guys have a good quarter?" In my 15+ year tenure in the valley, i have never worked in a company that fired so many people while seemingly doing so great. For context, in the last 2 years, my team has lost 75% of its members in layoffs. We are constantly working in fear of being the next one to be "axed". We keep our head down and go about our business trying to pretend we care about a product/company that cares so little about us. It's even more troubling that the leadership will entice its current members that we have a "excellent healthcare", "good pay" etc, but they always forget to mention we don't have a 401k match and our yearly salary bump is a mere $4000 at best. LOL

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It's never easy to part ways with talented colleagues. These decisions are incredibly difficult, but they enable us to invest in high growth initiatives that are powering the future of our company. Doing so is the best means to create value for employees, current and former. If you'd like to discuss this further, I invite you to reach out to me directly.

Pros

Best engineering and marketing team in industry. People work so hard in this organization, almost everyone over 10-12 hrs a day. A decent product, much better than the competitors. Great benefits, free lunch and dinner

Cons

There is no transparency , everything has been controlled and managed by few people. Bro culture and some leaders can not take criticism. Some of the departments have become very hostile and age discrimination has become so frequent. Employees have repeatedly escalated age harassment / Hostile environment complains to management and it has fallen to deaf ears. Instead people are let go. Leaders edit slack messages after they are caught lying. Some the statements made by leaders.. "At this age you are an individual contributor? You have not made any mark?" "I can replace and fire you in a day" "Some of the engineers order too much of food because they come from poor country like India" If you report any concerns/complaints to management either in person or by officevibe, the employee is let go. Executives in engineering, sales and finance have left, Resignations and firing has become frequent. CEO is just a mediocre, overrated.

Pros

The benefits package is outstanding

Cons

Inept leadership, terrible culture. No one in the the sales leadership should be in a management position anywhere, but especially not at a scrappy startup.
