Once a Great Company to Work For

Pros

Pay is good, benefits are pretty average for a company of their size. There are a lot of great people who work for Thrasher, and I've worked on some great teams there. Thrasher products are the best out there. Hands down.

Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement. Several layers of management have been added recently to make it a much more top-heavy organization. Management preaches hiring people who are 'culture fits', but has destroyed the culture that the company once had. Has a much more corporate feel rather than the family owned business it once did.

Attractive from the outside

Pros

The relationships that are made between coworkers are great and everyone as a whole seems to get along great and works well together. Great benefits and competitive pay.

Cons

Thrasher was a family oriented company. As the president of the company once said "As long as our sales go up... oh yeah and help customers too". The company is very appealing on the outside but deep down it's very toxic and does not follow it's own values and beliefs. It's one thing to say it another to actually do it and believe in your heart. The upper management is very much in their own circle of who they hang out with. Current employees are in constant FEAR of their jobs. God forbid if they say how they really feel and they ruffle a few feathers. Those who do speak their minds are "not a culture fit and quietly disappear. Sad to say this is NOT the christian based company as it once was.

Unfortunate Turn for Worse

Pros

The crews, sales teams, service teams and people that do the bulk of the work for the company are amazing people. They continue to sacrifice time from their families, to do the best, honest work that they can for customers. I respect their hard work and dedication. I appreciate the owners for the care that they have always given anytime they were in the office. They are a great couple.

Cons

I was there for several years. Over the past couple years, there have been multiple layers of management added. With each layer added - the value of the people has diminished greatly. You can work your heart out, love what you do, the customers and your co-workers - and management will turn and tell you that you aren't a culture fit. Its unfortunate to see how corporate the company has become. The true why and hard work of the owners, that got the company to where it is today; is not felt or understood anymore. It has become about the money, the employees feel it, and the management doesn't care. A lot of talk, no follow through. If you are looking for a place that you want to feel good about your work, at any level, this is not a great place to work.
