Pros

Theoretically unlimited earning potential. After 3 years you get lots of freedom. In some cases you will get a customer list to begin making contact with

Cons

Limited market, can only sell to Christians. More interested in getting new members than helping reps build sustainable practices. Many in management have no sales experience yet they are training new reps. Confusing pay plan that's always changing. You do not own your book of business.

Pros

- You have a lot of freedom to work from home, be in the office whenever you would like, can take time off if you ever need it. - They will get you licensed and will train you further. They reimburse many different educational programs through the American College that you can take advantage of immediately. -Pension

Cons

- No Salary - this is more sales than anything else. There is a strong push to sell annuities and life insurance above any other type of products. - There is a lot of talk about helping people but if you do not sell enough life insurance and annuities, there becomes more pressure to sell than help. - Thrivent spends time and resources helping you build your business but focuses greatly on your 'natural market' (friends and family). If you do not have a natural market it will be a tough start. If you do have one, expect to be calling all the people closest to you for business.
