Pros

Work/life flexibility - easy to flex work hours around personal needs when necessary. Good ethics and strong commitment to volunteerism and charitable giving.

Cons

It's a no growth/low-growth company. Slow moving. Traditional, stodgy. You don't have to be Christian to work there, but you have to be OK with conservative Christian employees being the norm, sometimes having to do Bible-based devotions at work, and there being a backwards resistance to LGBTQ inclusion given their focus on the Christian market.

Pros

Autonomy over your schedule Representing a Christian membership organization Competitive products Ability to build your practice the way you want

Cons

Insurance company where your short and long term success depends on your ability to sell insurance to your "natural market" (friends and family). No salary - commission only Unlimited upside seems nice, but even so the commission is better at other companies (assuming identical case size)

Pros

Thrivent is a faith based work environment that provides financial services to Christians across america. I have a undergrad in business and a Masters of Divinity so this is the perfect blending of faith and finances for me. I've been working at Thrivent for 2 1/2 years and have yet to see a negative move organizationally. That's not to say that their aren't negative people in the organization, just like every organization!!! Thrivent provides a wonderful work environment with major opportunities for financial security (with no guarantees). If you are looking for a mere job, this probably isn't the position for you - BUT - if you are looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity, then this is your chance! Great Benefits Good Compensation Time Freedom Social Impact

Cons

Thrivent positions itself as a financial services company for everyone regardless of socio-economic position, but it is difficult to compensate Financial professionals based off of this stance. Compensation models tend to favor higher net worth clients. Truthfully, this is a problem for the industry as a whole and is a hard nut to crack.
