Micromanagement galore

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The paychecks don't bounce and some of the people are nice.

Cons

Ever since the move to the product model, micromanagement is the name of the game. You will have multiple bosses. JIRA tickets and status reports are far more important than doing work. You will spend the majority of your day in meetings. You will be asked for updates several times per day even though all status is already captured in stand-ups and tickets. Management will be in working group chats with you and will pick apart your design decisions.

Pros

You can work from home and kind of set your own schedule.

Cons

The way I get paid is really confusing, but I think it's like a pyramid. All I do is sell life insurance and annuities, nothing else. The training is pretty bad, it's like they didn't even try. Lots of people quit because they don't make enough money. I think most of the managers are new because they seem just as confused as everyone else. I was told that successful people only clock in for meetings and stuff to keep under 40 hours but I don't like working off the clock.
