Pros

My experience has been that Thrivent as an organization cares about its employees. It is not perfect, since there is no perfect group of people, but it is a very good place to work and earn a living. Many can experience a good work/life balance and the emphasis on ethics/morals promotes a positive type of peer pressure. There is a real effort to volunteer and give to our neighbors and a strong focus on the Members/owners of the company.

Cons

If you do not want to mix faith, finances and your work life, you should not work here. It is normal to here faith references and it is a fundamental part of our membership bond.

Pros

Nonprofit organization that supports non profits. Is the largest contributor to habitat for humanity in the us

Cons

It's like going back in time 20 years. Very much a good ole boys club in the field...sr leadership pushes their own personal agendas to staff and members ie books they wrote.

A little too conservative

Pros

You have flexibility in terms of what you do as you are essentially working in your own business, not as an employee. It allows you to blend your faith and career although those lines can often become blurry. If you are successful in your first 2-3 years there is good upside for a successful long term business. Chances are much better if you can partner with a seasoned rep who is willing to mentor you.

Cons

Lack of name recognition. Compensation plan is difficult to understand and, to a large extent, benefits established reps much more than newer ones. Although it is faith based, the company can often be overly conservative in it's approach to many things.
