Pros

Thought to be adding value, but everything falls on deaf ears. One star for the Coaches and a few SM/POs that actually give a crap. If you are a “Yes” man/woman, to management you will be fine, but if you challenge authority, trying to achieve better outcomes and improving team performance, by adding intrinsic value, you will become the outsider, fighting against evil to save your job.

Cons

Anything I did was perceived as just tasks without value add. No Management or HR support to actually solve problems. Most everyone focuses on themselves vs. the team. They will never get to Agile Mindset since they are focused on process, framework and functionality only within specific Ops Model. Agile Coach is perceived as dirty floor mat to wipe feet on, while most teams continue to follow bad practices and don’t care.

Pros

Great company culture. Really good insurance products with competitive rates. Great training program for new advisors. Total freedom over your time and practice.

Cons

NO guaranteed salary. Pay for your own: office space, 50%+ of marketing expense that has to be Thrivent branded, pay for use of their software's and your license fees. Pay scale heavily favors top performing advisors who are generally legacy advisors who received developed practices from family members.

Once a leader

Pros

Thrivent has a lot of wonderful people who work here and was once a leader in the faith based world of insurance and investments. The day to day employees work hard and are very passionate about their jobs. They take their jobs seriously and really do quite well.

Cons

Upper management has lost it's way. There is no market for this organization anymore. Since leaving the Lutheran world, Thrivent has struggled to create an identity for itself. Leaving it a shell of what it used to be. It's really too bad because the concept of what Thrivent should be is what the world needs more of. What upper management has done is twisted Thrivent's products into something you must sell instead of being what clients want. Thrivent's way of treating the sales staff is "it must be you if our products aren't selling". Instead, most sales organizations realize it's the product that isn't working and therefore must be updated to what clients want. This is where the problem of why the organization continues to shrink. Management doesn't seem to understand this and therefore Thrivent will continue to struggle.
