Pros

-Best Resources -Not-for-profit and fortune 500 -Not commission based until you are established enough to be -Don't "throw you in the wolves den," meaning they prepare you as best as possible in training instead of expecting you to figure it out

Cons

-It takes a lot of patience to build a financial planning practice, but the rewards are boundless if successful

Pros

modern facility, many good people at the front line and mid management levels.

Cons

Sr. Leadership has no clear vision or strategy but is on a mission to eliminate staff with 10 yrs or more of service. Quality of Character of CEO and Sr. Leadership team has taken a hit with departure of previous CEO and many previous Sr. Leaders.

Pros

There are some wonderful people at Thrivent, good benefit package, generous benevolence side for members, does good work with Habitat for Humanity.

Cons

Divided culture, lack of promised support for new FRs , favoritism, overhead for FRs way too high, especially when compared with others in the industry - must pay for own office/supplies/marketing/technology, etc., and mostly the financial product management side has no idea what the fraternal management side is doing. There is a huge divide which is problematic because both sides participate the hiring/support process for FRs. A lot of promises are made and not kept, lots of balls dropped, lots of waste. Proceed with caution and get everything in writing!
