Pros

The hospital staff is fantastic and cares about the quality of care of our patients. There is fantastic community outreach and the physicians truly fight for patient safety/rights, while dealing with an increasingly difficult corporate structure.

Cons

C-Suite lives in a silo and is primarily concerned with market share and expanding with reducing staffing and support. Benefits are also decreasing each year. Deteriorating management conditions make working in Information Systems unstable at best. Long term lack of a CIO and the changing of management several times coupled with layoffs and consultants make teams conflict. The structure of the department’s org chart is dated and lacks accountability and communication. Job security appears to not exist.
