Pros
Friendly people, descent small town, educational community, pleasant environment, easy commute, easy to settle in. They like to think of their employees as family members (at first) so as long as you are willing to play their games, and you fit their vision of a preferred employee, you'll have smooth-sailing for the first year or two.
Cons
Lots of petty office politics (from bickering over who has a bigger office/nicer desk, to bickering over who is secretly in charge of what and why). For a University the pay is terrible (unless you're in athletics, or one of the senior positions, in which case you will be showered in money and benefits). They typically expect staff members to work two jobs (within TU) for the (barely) price of one.
