Pros

1.salary -- oh yeah, salary was pretty great which was the whole incentive of me leaving my previous job to come to this one. I got a 6k-ish raise leaving my old job. 2. Yearly SM trips to california -- It was nice that they gave store management the opportunity to share in an experience with higher management, to give input (though if it was actually received is another question completely), to interact with higher management, and to really represent your store. We were involved in meetings, received a lot of free stuff from vendors, found out any new things to look forward to seeing in the next year, got to watch a mini concert/show/fashion show, and meet some famous celebrities (such as Tyga, Drama for young and reckless, Machine Gun Kelly, Soulja Boy, etc.)

Cons

1. work-life balance -- I poured all I could into this company for little to no recognition of all my hard work, and I would constantly have to come back to work, or work open to close, because work needed to get done in the back when we wouldn't have the coverage to do so. 2. Unreasonable expectations -- no matter the amount of hours you put in, there was always something wrong. Upper management emphasized the importance of everything being done 100% everyday, but we weren't given the hours to schedule someone for shipment so store management/assistant managers not only had to run the sales floor with high expectations to make sales, but also had to put out about 19-22 boxes worth of shipment at the same time with the expectation that it gets completed, while re merchandising the visuals of the store to accommodate all the new shipment. Please tell me how this is possible everyday with the expectation of making daily sales goals. IT ISN'T. 3. Unfair superiority/favoritism -- During high-peak volume holiday season, upper management had told me to do something (what upper management told me to do will remain anonymous), to which the entire district did. In turn, apparently we were not supposed to do that. Top management found out and instead of investigating the entire district, because every store did it, the entire blame was put on myself and I was let go for something that every store in my district did. 4. salary increases/bonuses -- When you work at a store with such high expectations, hitting the monthly numbers to earn bonus is damn near impossible. when I received my annual review, I received little to no pay increase, and the little increase that i did earn took forever to start showing up on my pay stubs. I managed two stores in my time with this company, and when i did start at my second store, I received no pay increase even though it was a harder store to manage. 5. Reimbursement for yearly SM trips to california -- When we took our SM trips to california, they would prebook all the flights etc, so food, bag check in, that was all on us, with the expectation that we were get 100% reimbursed. WELL. we didn't choose the flight, yet the last meeting we went to, we flew spirit airlines on our way home. i'm not sure if any of you are familiar with their check in luggage, and CARRY ON LUGGAGE, prices, but the company only covered up to $25 for luggage when i had to check in one bag, and carry on 2! A TOTAL OF $100 worth of luggage. HOW IS THIS FAIR when i did not even book this flight? Had i had the power to book the flight, i would have went with delta or virgin america to avoid taking such a hit to the bank account. Waiting for the reimbursement check for this trip also took MONTHS.

Pros

Store Manager was dedicated and wanted everyone to succeed. Fun atmosphere and great product. District Manager was always involved in how everyone was doing.

Cons

Low wages for the work that is expected of you. Being there late when you had a closing shift. Other members of management slacked off and then were not happy when they would get in trouble for not doing their job. Trying to plot against the store manager is not professional.
