Pros

There are many great things to working at Tilly's! This company hires some of the best people I have ever worked with. It has a fun and energetic environment, which makes my "work" not feel like "work"! The dress code is great! Being able to wear my day to day clothing and keeping up on current fashion trends is awesome! Tilly's has a great system set up for the way management is ran! Rotating twice a year which give every Co-Manager / Assistant Manager the ability to fully get developed in all aspects of the Store: Operations (store files, schedules, paperwork, etc.), Training and Development (new hires, action plans, employee files, reviews, etc.) and Visuals (floor sets, updates, transfers, markdowns, Window displays, etc).

Cons

Pay: the pay for employees Is minimum wadge with only around a 2% raise (which is nothing)! And in management only making $12.50 it's hard for me to even think about minimum wadge going up twice in 18 months. All sales employees will at $10 and I'm making only $2.50 more than them? I don't feel like this is fair to management. Something, out of respect for managers, should be discussed. We have a lot more responsibility than them and are working 40+ hours a week. Some members of management are young and befriend sales employees. Managers, need to keep manager confidentiality between other managers and not discuss this with non management employees. This results in those sales employees not respecting other members in management. Pushing sales is good to drive business but they push sales so much that it feels like that is all this company is out for. They don't care about the people who actually work for them, just the money they bring in. Favoritism is shown not only from manager-to-employee, but from manager-to-manager as well. Creating a divide in the management staff, which results in no longer having a "team".

Pros

Great employees, dress code is latest fashion trends, and awesome product. It is a great first step into the retail management world. You have the opportunity to touch base with all the fields. Operations ( paperwork, inventory, numbers, goals, sales expectations, schedules, audits), training and development (employee progress reports, interviews, employee files, recruitment) and Visuals (floors sets, markdown, mark ups, transfers, mannequins). They use a great systems to get you set up for a carrier as a retail store manager. 401k, dental, and health insurance. 40% off each season. A very young company and still growing with new stores opening up and with a very open and patient mind you could reach your retail goals with this company.

Cons

I've had a very interesting experience working for a very laid back upper management staff. Delegating orders per superiors to they're subordinates as if almost they held no responsibility to actions taken in store operations. The discount isn't so great but it is available for use by family. It was really hard to see employees work so hard to reach they're selling goals and grow just to be in the same position (carrot on a stick) with false promises of promotion being very easy to achieve. Pros

Discount, cool clothing, dress code

Cons

Treated unbelievably unfair by store manager. Store manager was rude, made racial comments, and used profanities daily. Wasn't allowed to use sick days, and was forced to work off the clock. There were unethical things happening in the store every day.
