      I was hired for a store as it was opening and was let go, with half the staff, before opening because they overstaffed.

      Pros

      Pay was reasonable. Employees that were let go were given pay for all scheduled shifts, even though they couldn't work those shifts because of being let go.

      Cons

      The sales lead was rude to coworkers and allowed to do so by management, because she was friends with an assistant manager. The business morals are terrible, treating employees like garbage. Nonsense reason for letting employees go, "We're worried about your ability to do the job." All we had been doing was setting up the store, not our job of making sales.

      Pros

      Good place to work as your first job, if your young and want to gain retail experience. Retail knowledge gained working at Tillys is quite sufficient and can be utilized in many in many other retail jobs. Work area has an enjoyable atmosphere, great music and clothes.

      Cons

      Most managers are completely immature and very unprofessional. Expectations and goals are set extremely high (and occasionally impossible) for mediocre pay and position. There are promises of growth with in the company but promotions never happen, they usually hire outside the company to fill a manager or merchandising position.
