Pros

The friends I made and the experience I gained. As much as I and the employees who work here despise it, you gain a variety of experience but it is an awful place to work.

Cons

Here we go... Basically maybe some people will like this job. Work here if... 1. You don't need consistent hours. If it's not season you will get less than 10 hours almost every week. Literally impossible to live off of. Management thinks they are doing you a favor by giving you rare extra hours. Management doesn't even care that you have no hours, they don't feel bad and the most selfish people I have ever met. They have a guaranteed 40 a week while every employee is getting 4-16 hours, Those measly hours are multiple shifts, Tilly's loves to give 2-3 hour shifts which is my gas getting there... 2. You enjoy being extra annoying. I don't understand if corporate is so stupid that they actually think yelling at us to be annoying and making us offer additionals and check up on customers 18 times will work. People will come to you if they need help aside from an initial greeting, they hate being followed as much as much as we hate doing it. Most employees don't even do it. 3. You want to work with unproffessional management. I'll leave it at that. 4. You want to do a ridiculous amount of work for minumum wage. The fact that they expect you to buy clothes with your pathetic 20 percent disount is laughable. They occasionally give a 40 percent discount and act like you need to stock your wardrobe with Tilly's products. I don't understand how you think we can afford that when we have no hours. They set sales goals for us, keep track of sales, and expect constant communication over the walkie FOR EVER LITTLE THING YOU DO. We don't work at Nordstrom why do you keep track of sales? Most people come in knowing what they want it's just about who gets to the person first or who hovers at fitting rooms. Most people cheat to get sales, it's a known thing among all employees, it's the most unfair system, and a joke that they actually base hours off of that. I honestly feel bad for a a couple of my managers and coworkers who have been there for a while and are great people. They are so much better than Tilly's, I can't understand why they would stay there and be miserable. I'm not an angry employee, I was here for months and actually enjoyed my job, but once I realized how much I was disrespected and treated like garbage, I found something so much better. There are so many jobs 100 times better than Tilly's that treat you better, pay better, give better and consistent hours, and that you can actually live off of. So basically if you're an annoying person who loves to bother people, don't mind being treated like garbage and working like a slave and you need maybe 60 dollars a week(don't expect anymore with Tilly's hours lol) then work here. Otherwise please find something else, I would never recommend this job to everyone and honestly feel bad for anyone that is stuck in that nightmare of a "job".

Pros

If it is your kind of style it's a great place to work at. The location where I was at was filled with tons of friendly employees and the majority of the customers were fun and friendly too so long as you are. My managers were really focused on the well being of everybody. I was really nervous my first day (which I had the misfortune of it being on black Friday) and my manager could see that and she just told me "You're doing fine, take a deep breath and keep going" and that little bit of encouragement completely focused me in seconds. As long as you're friendly and easy going, it's a fairly easy and fun job.

Cons

I felt like I didn't have enough training with the cash register before I was thrown into a black Friday that was a completely no-sales shift. Also, During the time I was there (with all of the other seasonal employees) nobody seemed to be getting many hours each week.

Pros

Only positive I got out of it was the friends I made... I was training to be a lead( see con).... Regular customers were cool...Music was good at times.. Gained some experience..

Cons

I can go all day all long about how bad of a job this is: - The pay was minimum wage which was horrendous for the amount of work that I was required to do. -Benefits were nonexistent -Discount was crap compared to every other stores in the mall...20% really?? and you expect me to pay for the overly priced clothing that they sell(on occasion they had 40% but I have to buy only things i can wear to work). -Management was not fair at all never seen a case of favortism in a store so strong(I was favored by the way) -I was told I was going to train to be a lead 1 year later still no training for the position and then the company decides to eliminate that position(so no incentive to work hard. -We had to ask for the breaks and they never told us to take them so some shifts I would work a whole shift with no break -Management would get into our personal lives i hated that. -Calling off was a task they would never believe you even if you were dying -Call-in shifts sucked you had to plan your day around them. - They treated seasonal kids really bad(I was never a seasonal I was hired as a regular) I felt bad for them and tried to be as kind as possible to them. -Incompetent people were promoted to assistant managers. -If you didnt sell you will not get hours( I was always top sales this is my observation) Pushing us to sell like we make commission was retarded and the amount of money i would make made me furious with the little credit i would get -Made me do manager duties at times when the managers got lazy or procrastinated so much. - Sucked at training and developing people -I hated the walking out rule I'm a guy I dont carry a purse -The constant walkie communication was unnecessary... And the fact I was pestered to continue you spill my life story over the walkie was extremely annoying -Managers were never on the same page Like i said i can go all day and night with what i hated so i will keep it at this length so not to bore you guys
