Pros

Lots of talented people, committed to doing a great job. Easy to work together, ethical people. Timken attracts talented people with great qualifications, so you'll be surrounded with people who know what they are doing and care about doing it.

Cons

Leadership priorities adjust often, but rationale not always shared with the associates. Message seems to be: "It will all make sense when we are done. The plan will become evident."

Timken grasping at straws for survival

Pros

Salary is fair; working environment is generally fair; flexibility on hours.

Cons

New younger management team does not know how to formulate strategy and tactics for growth; nor communicate the same. Company share price has decreased continually since. Company is left with very few options for long term survival and growth. Pulling S&A lever is one of the last.

Pros

It is a paycheck. it is really easy to get in the door. lots of available parking they match 401k contributions full size cafeteria with full service cooks(who are wonderful ladies)

Cons

poor management mandatory overtime due to under staffing and poor time management i was told that your chances of being laid off if you have been there less than 1 year are significantly high. they like to play the blame game poor communication lack of proper training many people have little to no qualifications to do their job and are only there because they know someone. plant manager left within a year of working there. high-strung employees creating a partially hostile work environment zero appreciation for a job well done. no chance of being anything except "average" especially during yearly reviews. dont like to hire temps to full time regardless of skill level or length of employment. employee favoritism they like to hide major quality concerns zero machine maintenance machines are not designed to hold tolerances to their specifications are seriously OUTDATED. dont respect employee concerns or ideas management has no idea how the machines or the processes operate no standards for new -hires. they take anyone. once you get to a position, you stay there forever.
