Revolving door of leadership; worst egos win

Pros

Exciting brand building potential. Decent pay and benefits. Lots of creative opportunity to make an impact. People and day to day teams are great and genuinely care about one another.

Cons

Leadership and management are terrible. It’s been a revolving door for the past 5 years…multiple CEOs, CPOs, CMOs…ever changing vision with no accountability at the top. Some C-suite leaders are very ego driven. Would rather make a name for themselves and their own work rather than heed the experience and creativity of their teams and focus on the big picture. Match Group makes poor decisions for Tinder. They’re not involved in the day to day, yet as the largest piece of revenue they jerk the brand and people around at their financial whims.

Pros

Good perks like unlimited vacation and free lunch and dinner.

Cons

Very inexperienced managers. Some who have the job because they were friends from before not because they are qualified. No communication. Not a good place if you are not a friend of an executive or a founder. Those in the in-group do whatever they want. Sometimes not even showing up for work for days. No strategy, just throwing stuff at the wall. The reviews about how everything is so great--look carefully at who is writing them--they are planted fake reviews.

Pros

- Everyone from middle management down is pretty cool and just trying to do good work. - The catered lunches are nice. - Tinder events are really fun. - The pay is relatively good. - The benefits are better than average.

Cons

- Incredibly political leadership who plays favorites and throws people under the bus to cover up their own incompetence - Critical thinking and healthy debate is frowned upon. Not speaking up is rewarded - Absolutely no vision. - People in leadership hire their friends to shield them from criticism - Leadership wants innovation, yet most ideas are top-down and they refuse to take real risks (most of their big ideas have failed) - More interested in impressing the board than impressing our users. - Weighed-down by a new process that brings all work to a standstill - Morale is at an all-time low. - Everyone is burnt out.
