Pros

Most of the people I worked with on a daily basis were great. They care about the users and want to make a positive impact in the dating space.

Cons

Since the new management team has taken over, there has been a noticeable change in the company. The compassionate, inclusive, and open environment has turned into one that uses threats and fear as a way to "motivate" employees. It's sad to see as Tinder has a lot of potential to do great things, but with the current leadership team and directors that won't be a possibility.

Pros

The perks are very solid. Who doesn't love having free catered lunches/dinners? Some of the people are really fantastic to work with and others... not so much.

Cons

Late nights, poor direction, management only seems to care about the bottom line. Some of our most recent features haven't had the smoothest rollout. Usually our customer support team helps to improve the situation a bit, but lately they've been using canned responses which make us all seem lazy. It would be great if we actually listened and supported our customers through all phases of our design process. This no single breaking point, but rather many. Just because Tinder is one of the top dating apps at the moment doesn't mean the team can rest on their laurels. Keep improving UI/UX and treat people like human beings.

Pros

I believe some of Tinder software engineers are very bright and smart people. Unfortunately upper management doesn't want to listen to them. They come to me with amazing ideas, but when I pass it further up the management chain, they either got rejected or management claims them as their own.

Cons

My main issue with Tinder company culture is that they never listen to their employees. It seems like initiative always come from the above, while I know for a fact that some of our software engineers and data analysts have brilliant ideas and sometimes they're months ahead of our top management. Seems like the ego of top management prevents company to adopt any new ideas. This is especially damaging during COVID-19. Our competitors did better job on fighting bots and create safe environment for people to interact. Also I think the company has lack of transparency - since not many people are aware of financial situation within the company.
