Pros

-Good company to get your feet wet in the industry -Really great co workers in the support team. Really great people

Cons

-Support is not a team toast really cares about -Low Pay -no advancement within the the support team -no advancement in toast in general. It’s all a popularity contest. Many people get roles that don’t exist making it difficult for people to advance. -

I’m so sorry to hear that you feel undervalued and unappreciated. Our team is a foundational part of the business and a key driver of customer success. We are actively taking strides to ensure that all members of the support team feel appreciated and adequately compensated. We recently completed a comprehensive salary review, and many of these changes are being rolled out as we speak. Aside from compensation, we are also working to build career paths for those looking to grow and advance. We recently developed a rotational program within R&D and have also championed the advancement of employees into other roles within Customer Success. If you’re comfortable connecting via email or in person, I would love to speak with you about your concerns and discuss ways that we can better support your growth here at Toast. - Debra Fleig, VP, Customer Support

Pros

Benefits, 401k, stock options, culture, diversity.

Cons

Looks like there's opportunity to improve on work life balance. I used to work 60-70 hr weeks just to stay on top of assignments. Too many hats to wear in my role compared to competition. Assignments should be divided equally per territory resources, not on quantity of businesses, but per customer site. For example: 1. FIE, Surveys, Installs/ Implements, trouble shoots. 2. Menu Specialist- goes in after FIE to tweak items and correct menu errors.( Most of the time an FIE spends after implementing, is trying to correct menu items and fixing errors). Also, Menu Specialist should be the back/ Front, Rest. MGR , staff trainer on site. 3. Go Live, should be staffed by FIE and menu Specialist as a team when possible to address all issue items on site. Sales too in an as needed scenario.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Our goal is to ensure that our Field Implementation Engineers have a positive work experience, and that despite our hypergrowth, we are maintaining work life balance for the team. I am sorry that this was not your experience. This serves as another reminder about the importance of the RIM team closely monitoring hours and communicating with FIEs to ensure that they don't burn out. You bring up a lot of great points on how we can better optimize the experience for both our team and our customers - definitely food for thought as we continue to iterate on the implementation process, especially as it relates to menu work. While I understand that you are no longer with Toast, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss. - Ellery Fink, Sr. Director, Services

Pros

Culture is great, everyone is young and eager.

Cons

High growth comes with a lot of growing pains. Feels like management can’t make up their minds on where to improve the business. Everyone works all the time, feels like you can never get away or take time to de-stress.

Thank you for sharing! I can certainly empathize with some of the growing pains. I'm working closely with the leadership team to continue making improvements on this front. Hopefully the most recent announcements about the wellness stipend, sabbatical, and 401K match are signs of positive change. We are deeply invested in making Toast a great place to work, and I promise that there is more to come in 2019. - Jackie Steele, Sr. Director, People & Culture
