Pros

The run-up to joining was excellent. Communication was clear, I knew what to expect, and it felt like the company genuinely cared about getting the first few weeks right. From day one onwards the welcome was spot on: the right introductions, good context on the business, and a sensible build-up into the role without being micromanaged. People have been friendly, approachable and quick to help, and I’ve felt trusted to get stuck in while still having support whenever I’ve needed it. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience and a great first impression of the culture.

Cons

Honestly, very little. There’s naturally a lot to take in at the start, but the support around you makes that easier.

Pros

Just got out of the military and was discovered by Topcon right after finishing my degree. With prior knowledge in Defense Logistics and general military training, the transition from military to civilian (work) life has never felt better. Here's just a few things off the top of my head: - Paid/Extensive Training - On-the-Job Training (OJT) - Work Life Balance - Amazing Pay & Benefits (Health, Dental, Eye, etc.) - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Busy, busy, busy (in a good way) - High morale (important for Vets alike) - Great Work Environment - Limitless Learning Capabilities

Cons

No Cons to point out. I'm still learning about the day-to-day operations, which has been supplemented with a lot of training (which I appreciate).

Full stack developer

Pros

Topcon operates in a niche yet highly innovative sector, focusing on agriculture and construction through advanced positioning and mapping technologies. Developers can work across a wide range of domains, from web and full-stack platforms to 3D software, IoT systems, and software tightly integrated with physical products. The technology stack involves sophisticated systems such as GNSS, spatial data, and real-time processing, all applied to concrete, real-world problems. It is especially rewarding to see how this work has a direct, meaningful impact and aligns with the company’s strong commitment to sustainability and efficiency.

Cons

As a large multinational company, some processes can feel slow or bureaucratic, especially when changes require coordination across multiple teams or regions. Career paths and role evolution could sometimes be communicated more clearly, particularly for people who want to grow in more technical or specialized directions.
