Hello, thank you for your candid feedback. The tip pool is, in fact, legal and a common practice in the hospitality industry. We have several measures in place to ensure fairness and appropriate pay for all tip pool participants. The amount tipped out to each person is based on: the number of hours worked during a shift, the dollar value of tips contributed to the pool that shift and historically (up to 8 weeks of tip contribution history), and the Associate's position. One benefit of the tip pool is that it eliminates concerns about being assigned to a slow or undesirable section.
