Pros

Overtime work is always available, health insurance is decent, new equipment

Cons

Work life balance is absolutely non-existence, live-to-work mentality, field jobs change on a dime, very high turnover rate with field crews, questionable surveying practices, low pay without overtime/per diem, nothing is "priority" when everything is "priority", weekend work is stated as not required but expected, low PTO, highly dependent on the swings of O&G. I didn't work as a remote crew, but that scenario seemed miserable. Little, if any time to visit home for them. If you are a young bachelor looking to make a decent paycheck and don't mind putting in long hours (70+) or moving around for work, then it wouldn't be awful. But if you aren't, steer clear of Topographic.

Pros

Salary is fair. Admin staff is kind, knowledgeable, driven, and supportive of junior staff. Lots of opportunity for growth and additional education.

Cons

The divisions are very siloed that can make cooperation between divisions difficult - sometimes.
