Pros

I loved this job! I loved working w women and building their wardrobe. Making them smile and feel good about themselves was such an uplifting experience. I would regularly get reviews from customers. And thats a great way to get positive feedback! I learned a LOT from working at this company about management expectations and the inner workings of corporate retail.

Cons

Corporate retail lol The expectation is high. And you will be held accountable for your results as an MOD. The reason I left is more specific to the store manager at my location. Also my DM and SM were not always giving the same coaching which was quite confusing. Especially for learning my role as a first time manager.

Pros

The customer base for this store was the absolute best part of working for Torrid.

Cons

Unfortunately, the store manager is allowed to practically get away with anything, simply because of the location’s annual sales rates. Until recently, there just were no other options for an entire half of the state’s population in search of plus size woman’s clothing. By virtue of exclusivity alone, the Anchorage Torrid was making and breaking sales records every year.

Pros

More than just a retail job, working with customers to uplift confidence and comfort in their desired fashions, events, or professional needs is so rewarding.

Cons

The quality of the clothes has gone down, expect far too many side tasks aside from customer service and making numbers, to be done in shorter and shorter time with little to no staff. Low pay compared to other like positions for the amount of work expected. Raises are sad.
