Pros

The work is meaningful. Our platform is helping customers elevate their experiences and scale their businesses to help more American’s reach their financial goals. I have autonomy. As a product manager, I drive my teams strategy based on our company goals and customer discovery and I have feel empowered to make the tough prioritization decisions. Great people. This pandemic has been tough! Leaders have been super supportive when I have to drop things to take care of quarantined kids. I look forward to our daily standup because we aren’t efficient in them. We take time to talk about our lives and go on some random tangents which makes my day (sorry scrum master friends).

Cons

Aggressive goals. We set the bar high and expect a lot from people. Growth is hard and it takes a lot of work. Some days can definitely be exhausting. Turnover. It makes it harder to maintain momentum and achieve our release goals. That being said, we’ve attracted some great veteran software leaders at the c-level and engineer to fill the roles. We are evolving like crazy all over the place.

Pros

It was remote work but shifted to in office. Some nice people at the IC level. Cool events.

Cons

During my time at the company, I witnessed frequent leadership turnover — including multiple CROs, CS heads, CPO/Vp, within just 2 years. This constant change made it difficult to align on vision or build any long-term momentum. The culture heavily favored cliques and social connections over merit, and there was a clear lack of inclusivity, especially at the executive level. If you weren’t part of the inner circle or challenged the status quo, you were often marginalized or micromanaged. There was little to no investment in employee development or recognition. Expectations were rarely clear, and support was minimal — setting many up to struggle unnecessarily. Layoffs were common, and the overall environment felt unstable. If you’re looking for long-term growth and a healthy workplace culture, I’d advise approaching this opportunity with a lot of caution.
