      A broken culture that needs fixing

      Pros

      There are free snacks at the office and unlimited PTO.

      Cons

      Total Expert says they are "people first" and "support continuous learning", "share the credit for being successful", etc. It's the complete opposite. The executive team and leadership do not care about their people and don't put us first. Sure, free swag or cookie boxes are cool... but if you ask for them to support you in a learning opportunity, they'll say no. They will ignore you. If you ask for a promotion or want to switch departments, no. If there are awards, it's always the same handful of people that win. "We consistently introduce and contribute to new ideas, products and processes." I'd argue they take innovation to an extreme, negatively impacting the product. Leadership doesn't care about enhancing the platform. Instead, they're rushing from release to release, trying to push new features out as fast as possible. Everything is breaking behind the scenes, and our customer-facing teams are taking the brunt of it. There has been massive turnover in the past few months. We're tired, underpaid, and no one is happy.

      We are People First and we absolutely do support continuous learning. The People Ops team rolled out LinkedIn Learning last year. This valuable resource is available to all employees and offers a range of career development and learning opportunities, and more importantly empowers employees to independently explore interests and gain skills. At Total Expert we encourage managers to guide employees on their career development goals, including promotion and transfer opportunities. That is built into our review process as well. We are proud to say that 20% of our staff transferred to new departments or were promoted last year. Total Expert publicizes all open positions in the organization via our Applicant Tracking System, Lever.

      Pros

      The product is near top tier if not top tier quality.

      Cons

      CEO has no focus or direction. So the board brings in a new president to "FIX" things..... surprise no one vetted this man. He has scathing reviews all over glass door from his previous companies. How he passed a HRs review is beyond me. For a company so focused on people and culture this was a hard miss. I imagine a continued exodus will plague TE until either this new leadership is gone or reformed. feeling the pressure to return to full time office is been turned up by new leadership.

      Total Expert leadership has not pressured employees to return to the office full-time. We offer the option to employees to return, should they seek in person collaboration. It is not a requirement for any of our employees. In the last two years, employees from around the country have joined our team. Now over 25% of our employees live out of state. Total Expert has fully embraced both a hybrid and/or fully remote workforce, depending on the position and an employee’s location.

      The people that were not in management positions.

      Executive Management team is a complete disaster and they have a revolving door.
