Awful management

Pros

offers remote work from anywhere (for a short period) if negotiated, unlimited PTO, and salaries slightly better than the average local market, though they tend to stagnate

Cons

- huge technical debt with legacy code and incredibly bad architecture - micro-management with lots of turnover - poor understanding of agile methodologies and weak communication - hired for one role but expected to do many other tasks on a completely different career trajectory - pitiful onboarding process - very disorganized structure - unacceptable behaviors from some unskilled managers - visible nepotism and favoritism - too many unachievable goals in an unclear roadmap and ineffective system (frequent OKRs, reviews, HR sessions) - many people leave after a few months

Pros

Good work-life balance A lot to learn Good management Transparency

Cons

HR part is way too much (goals, OKRs, reviews, everything 4 times / year, mandatory HR sessions, drilling of company values, horrible sessions of listening to the same thing over and over again) Lack of process, a lot of times the older employees are dictating how things go, you don't really have a voice.

Thanks for the feedback. It's great to see you appreciate many aspects of the company. Regarding the feedback on our people processes, we are a high-performance culture, so we focus on setting clear objectives and providing ongoing feedback to our employees on how they are doing throughout the year. This requires effort, but one that has very high ROI. With that said, we do work to continuously improve and respond to feedback from our employees. We heard from them that running this process 4x a year was too much and consequently, we have reduced it to 3x a year. I hear you on the repetition of the company values. We have just refreshed them (with lots of employee input) and want to ensure they get embedded in our culture. I don’t want us to be a place where our values are just words on a poster. Thanks, Ross
