Pros

Some of the best reason to work at Towne Park? I seriously can't describe some of the best reason to work at Towne Park other than my immediate co-workers.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Towne Park includes: 1) Poor upper management skills. If you decide to work for the Atlanta based Townepark, I strongly recommend that you prepare yourself for poor skilled managers. 2) No benefits. You are asked to work a 40 hour week to receive benefits; however, it's impossible to work 40 hours a week when management comes up with every excuse to keep you under 40 hours a week. 3) No set schedule; therefore, when scheduled to work on a day of an appointment that you already made, it is your fault. I had an final exam I needed to take and because it interfere with my work schedule it was my fault. It was as if the account manager was discouraging me from taking my final exam. Raises the question, "does Towne Park support its employee's education goals?" 4) Overworked and underpaid. I can only speak on the barista pay which is $8.00 an hour. You are asked to do so much yet your continue to be underpaid. 5) No room to grow. Managers will always try to manipulate you into believing that there will always be room to grow. Do not believe this. I had worked as a barista for over a year and some months. I went to management for a supervisor position which paid a dollar more and was denied constantly. Expect to be turned away for non sense reasons. I live in the city with no mean of personal transit except the city's MARTA system. Every morning, I woke up and caught the first train to the nearest transit station nearest to the hospital and walked. This did not factor into the decision; however on the mornings that the system was on a delay and I was late to work did. I was the only barista at the time that was able to arrive to work as early as 6:00am. You will work hard and ask for what you think you deserve and in return will be denied. There is no room to grow based on personal and unjust reasons. 6) Personal versus business? Managers will always take matters personally no matter how many times they tell you it isn't personal, it just business. What manager cuts your hours 30 to 6 hours a week because you move a sheet of paper that was typed by them to retype based on your district manager's comments? In my defense I was helping the manager, who was gone from the store for two weeks, by retyping the paper and reposting it, so that district manager felt we were obeying her decisions as we operated her store. I was simply helping out. But because it was taken as a personal attack, I was given personal consequences. Funny, however, the sheet I retyped was taken down and retype by that manager, but was the same thing I typed just in a bigger font. Personal? I believe so. There are so many cons to this company. I would recommend any potential employee to re-think its decision. There are so many better companies out there. I would like to make it clear that last month I was hired at another licensed Starbucks store as a Shift Supervisor making 11.32 an hour. A big difference. And the job guarantees 40 or more hours no matter what. There's a big difference between its policies and Towne Park.
