Pros

Tips + Hourly usually put your combined hourly pay well above minimum wage. Higher class clientele. Overall good job to have without a required degree. Paid cardio workout. Excellent for a college student.

Cons

Managers do not know how to run the business at many sites. Their 3 write-up termination policy is handled ineffectively and unfairly. Favoritism is clearly evident. Employees who want their job and perform excellently could get fired before an employee who constantly curses in front of management gets fired. That's just how it goes. The entire company does NOT focus on helping their employees. They focus solely on their own profit margins, and they'll cut you down before you get in the way of that. They aim to be a billion dollar company in 10 years time, yet they cut your pay and never give raises in a majority of the available positions, and they'll use this as their way to get to a billion. My site spent a mere 1.7% on employee labor. The rest of the 98.3% was pure profit. Then they'll tell you they can't give employee raises? Please. Transfers to other properties under this company is nearly impossible. Some managers will fire you before they approve your transfer, no matter what the circumstances are. Account managers sometimes become employed into their management position instead of working their way up from an entry level position. This means that they do not know the ins and outs of the daily business, therefore they won't understand your concerns. Write-ups are often given out, even for terrible reasons. (i.e.: "Getting into a car accident on the way to work does NOT excuse you from the rest of your scheduled shifts. Even if your car isn't operable." ~TownePark Management). This ended in written documentation and an employee termination. Even the state labor laws don't stop managers from running their employees into the ground. If it's busy, expect to work a minimum of 8 hours STRAIGHT, with no break. They won't hesitate to schedule you for 10-14 hour shifts if the day is expected to be busy. And a break? No. What is that? You won't get one on days like these. Sometimes, if a full week is expected to be busy, they'll schedule inconceivably insane hours (i.e.: 3pm-2am on Thursday & 6am-4pm on Friday). If you don't like those hours, oh well. They'll gladly take your job from you. Often times, when it's busy and extra labor is necessary at your site, other employees from other sites will be scheduled at your site to help out. If it's too busy to give everyone breaks, the management will even buy lunch for you! BUT if your site doesn't have anyone from other sites working at the time, they won't buy you lunch, even if you've been working for 12 hours straight. They put up a front when other employees and management are on site, but as soon as nobody is there to snitch, their "concern" goes out the window. The company prides itself on having a "high turnover rate". With normal companies, this is a bad thing. But TownePark twists this fact to give it a false-positive front. Instead, they say that they "constantly welcome new employees". However the truth behind that statement involves firing valuable employees who want to be employed or causing them to quit, and then hiring employees who don't want to be there who don't care about their jobs. This ends in a constantly high turnover rate just because TownePark doesn't care about their employees. Will you enjoy your time with this company, probably not. But with that said, they still won't care.

Pros

Very easy company to work for. Helps keep you in shape. Great choice for a college job. If you work hard enough you can make a nice tips (tip pool).

Cons

If they could pay you less, they would. No value to a person. Work outside in all conditions. Not everyone works as hard as everyone else does. Forced tip pool; you can make $100 for a cut but the guy next to you only makes $20, you both get the same amount. No raises unless you get a promotion
