Pros

I've worked here for over 4 years and see great potential in the future if we can get out of our own way, "turn the corner" and execute well on our future direction. The next 2 years will tell the tale - but I'm very hopeful.

Cons

The acquisition of TradeStation by Monex Group a few years ago couldn't have come at the wrong time. The merging of the two companies was completely mis-managed which has (rightly) caused many of the complaints you see here. The drain of Monex, and the slow speed of transitioning TradeStation's strategic direction from its flagship product to new products has been slow to materialize and poses risks until it is resolved.

Pros

Nice facility, free breakfast on Friday (although it reminded less of a nice breakfast and more of an army slop line. Nothing was very appetizing)

Cons

Management -- all of management, from the CEO (who was recently forced to retire due to his extreme ineptitude) down to the lowest project manager -- are so intolerably incompetent that often times I would wonder if I was being filmed by ashton kutcher. The codebase has evolved organically with absolutely no thought put in to how to actually design robust software. Basic software design patterns are completely unknown to the rank and file. Their technical debt is enormous, their software is not extensible at all, and their parent company -- Monex -- is just now realizing that they bought this company for nothing as TradeStation's software is so brittle that it cannot be tailored Japan's market.
