Pros

Not having to grocery shop in off time outside work.

Cons

I would like to share some observations regarding potential areas for improvement in our workplace. More Specifically to the midtown atlanta, ga Store: The following concerns are offered in the spirit of fostering a more positive, equitable, and supportive work environment: 1. Perceived Favoritism There seems to be a perception that certain employees receive preferential treatment, either due to personal connections with management or shared ideologies. This can lead to frustration among other crew members who feel overlooked despite their dedication and performance. Establishing clear, transparent criteria for promotions and special assignments could help mitigate this concern. 2. Termination Practices A few termination cases have raised concerns about unclear or seemingly arbitrary reasons for dismissal. For example, employees have reported being dismissed for actions they believed were in the company's best interest, such as removing abandoned items to improve accessibility. Ensuring that all policies regarding employee conduct and termination are clearly communicated and legally compliant would help prevent misunderstandings and foster trust. 3. Career Advancement Challenges for Long-Term Employees There appears to be limited upward mobility for dedicated employees who have been with the company long-term. This is especially noticeable when college students or temporary workers are seen as advancing more quickly. Implementing a structured career development program could better support loyal employees seeking long-term growth within the company. 4. Inconsistent Workload Expectations Some employees feel that certain groups are allowed to socialize or take extended breaks without consequence, which creates an impression of unequal workload distribution. Ensuring that all team members are held to consistent performance and conduct standards would improve morale and productivity.

Pros

Good coworkers, frequent samples for employees

Cons

worked for this company for 4 and a half years and feel used, taken advantage of, and betrayed. You will train new employees who do a quarter of the amount of work you do and they can get paid $4 more an hour. Managers pick favorites and will never be fully satisfied with you. The regional manager refused to speak with me after a month of trying to have a conversation with him to address my complaints with how I and others were mistreated. I got his email myself and asked why he wouldn't speak to me; He made me cry over the phone and urged me to just try and find a job with better competitive pay (I did). Now that employees have been unionizing, long-term employees continue to be mistreated in what is likely an attempt to replace them with new employees who will not want a union. There is nothing I wouldn't do in the time that I worked for Trader Joe's, and they were sure to take advantage of my willingness to do any task that was asked of me, but that was still not enough. One of the reasons I didn't get a raise was because the head manager told me I take out the trash too much and that I should give other people a chance. Sure, they offer 2 raises a year, but they will find any excuse not to give you that raise. I was literally told I take out the trash too much. That was a genuine criticism.

Pros

A Comprehensive benefits package (dental/vision/health/401k), somewhat flexible scheduling, hourly staff and (store-store) lower-level management comradery

Cons

Gutting of 401k contribution at the end of 2021, wage reduction penalties for transfers, increase in healthcare premium, union busting, wage increase suspension in 2021 to offset hazard pay mandates for their crewmembers. Slashing previous covid related sick pay forcing crewmembers to dip into PTO, of which you accrue little in the first place.
