Pros

The benefits are great - health insurance for 20 hrs. and up, retirement plan paid completely by company and you get it if you stick around a few years. The crew is chosen in part for personality and are generally a great group to work with.

Cons

I understand the experience can vary greatly from one area to another. I'm on the East coast and they just don't seem to get the 'laid back' CA attitude or the fun environment that's supposed to be a part of the job. Also, the workspaces, materials for artists, freedom to be creative are different depending on the value the individual store managers place on their store's signage.

Pros

Trader Joe's is truly a unique company. If you're willing to put up with the physicality of it all and the long hours as a supervisor, it will reward you in spades. You'll develop strong management and customer service skills, while, for the most part, having a good time. The people who are the most successful are the people who are already customers and think it would be a great place to work as well.

Cons

As a supervisor, you are scheduled a minimum of 50 hours, so be ready for that. There is a lot of burn out due to all the repetitive lifting, and stocking. Also, be ready to give up your weekends, but that's part of retail.
