Pretentious shop with zero work/life balance
Pros
-World wide offices, working with coworkers across the world.
Cons
-I’ve seen a few of trafs offices around the world, but nothing comes close to how bad Houston’s is run. From HR to the traders it is the most pretentious environment I’ve seen and they think they’re too good for everyone. - It’s normal/expected of you to work outrageous hours and frowned upon if you leave on time. Unless of course you’re a senior trader or HR, that doesn’t apply to them here! -Severe disconnect between internal departments and management. -Turnaround is the highest I’ve ever see compared to all other trading houses. Either being fired or leaving on their own, you will have a new team every couple months. Then when someone leaves or gets fired it’s up to the rest to keep up, until the next one leaves. It’s one revolving door. Which management/HR can’t seem to understand. Impossible to work efficiently under these conditions. -The money you get at other traf locations makes it ok to put up with all this. But when you’re in Houston, you have unlimited other options in this industry, go elsewhere, which is what I realized.
