Lack of vision; avarice; opportunism
Pros
Since my team was distributed throughout the US, I was able to work from home which is a huge plus for me. Most employees truly liked to help each other whenever possible.
Cons
The cons far outweigh the pros. The CIO is an opportunist who would "throw under the bus" anyone within reach if he felt it would further his own personal ambition. I've witnessed it personally. He also manages by fear. I would not mistake him for a leader in any sense of the word. For a company that publicly pronounced to its shareholders less than a year ago that it was transitioning to a "mobile-first" fintech business, dissolving the entire mobile team is what I would call a "career limiting move". TA will never be a leader in this space with this mindset. But, the main problem is: it's so easy to make money that they have no incentive to change.
