Pros

Your fellow attendants are good people and make the job tolerable

Cons

During training, I was informed there could be opportunities for quick advancement, but that did not reflect my personal experience. In Jacksonville, the 90-day probationary period is very strict. Even with a doctor’s note for illness, any absence resulted in attendance points and affected eligibility for promotions for several months. Communication with HR often took several days, and the responses I received did not give me confidence that concerns would be resolved. The role also differed from my expectations. I was hired as an Autonomous Vehicle Specialist but the position was classified as Shuttle Attendant. While listed as a full time job the schedule was not set up to receive 40 hours. I was also required to use my personal phone to complete job tasks, including downloading and utilizing company applications, but no reimbursement was provided for this required use. Parking options were limited with the closest guaranteed parking located about three blocks from the site. From my perspective, performance metrics were prioritized more than employee safety. Although daily shift review forms were submitted, I did not often see follow-up on the issues raised. Overall, based on my experience, I did not find the site well-organized or supportive of career growth.

Absolute mess

Pros

My workload is light, others work endlessly for incompetent higher ups.

Cons

Bad pay and benefits, raises are jokes, people are either at this company less than 5 years or 20 + because they are complacent and comfortable. Much of management is extremely incompetent and the systems in place are extremely inefficient. They are hyper cheap and will work people like dogs . No wonder there is over 40% turnover at this company.

Pros

-Good wages -Work Independently Good start to begin in if entering medium/heavy duty. -The work here is rewarding, puting busses in service for the public is a good feeling.

Cons

-Management is in constant battle with themselves and the client (foothill). - Weak union, don't expect your rep to stand up for you. -A place where people make good money it's weird to see people not very happy here or don't stay long, and I believe that would be due to a mix of older seniority not getting along with new techs, as well as management. often times adopting the "every man for himself" mantra here. - No foundation on how promotions work so often times management/union just makes up their own rules on who gets promoted. - Overall cheap. Contractor will not spend money on needed parts to get these busses on the road correctly. often times leave mechanics to figure it out with old/expired parts from down busses. - and to top it off; the schedule is terrible. there is no motivation to make it better or at least try to rotate weekends. They're so focused on making route to rip more tax money than to - at the very least acknowledge that without their employees, those buses would not be in service.
