Pros

Great work environment. The technology stack is top shelf. Going to conferences and seeing what other companies in the area are using makes you appreciate the tools we get to use. It is a small company so your ability to influence how the products get built is high. If you show some initiative and the ability to learn things on your own, you can have a significant impact. Adopting newer technologies is never out of the question as long as you can make the business case and come up with an implementation plan. The personalities are great and I've made some good friends during my time here. You can walk into the CEO's office anytime you want and he'll chat about anything with you.

Cons

Small company so don't expect some of the perks that larger companies can offer, like annual bonuses.

Pros

- You are not micromanaged - People who show initiative are rewarded with more responsibility - Different areas to test every day - Always learning new things, from how APIs work, to back-end - Fun, genial co-workers - There are many additional opportunities to learn - there are labs taught by co-workers to learn technologies (like Ansible, AWS, Docker, etc), books are available from management, book club meetings to read and discuss ideas

Cons

- Pay is not high to start, but it increases with promotions - Upward movement can take a while (make it clear you want this, if you do) - New technologies are not always taken advantage of by the company (although employees desire this)

Pros

They give you a lot of leeway to do as you like as a language instructor and blogger and you do get occasional appreciation of your work (in the form of praise, not raises).

Cons

Very low pay, disorganized and outdated management styles and procedures, insensitivity and ignorance displayed by management, lack of appreciation for certain styles of teaching
