Pros

Outstanding starting salary as an entry level employee, option of "cross lines" movement to stay challenged after you've exhausted yourself in your current role, the last resort option to go into red alert mode and take state-protected Stress Leave

Cons

Sink or Swim environment from the moment you are activated within the claims system, minimal individual assistance from a designated training resource. Performance strictly graded by your ability to call a claimant / worker / insured within a designated time frame; salary increases and bonuses not based on experience, extra specialty work performed, or seniority; requirements to take on additional work not within your job description with little to no recognition or monetary compensation. An absolute GUARANTEE that your work-life balance will be eliminated completely within a year of hire. Workflow developments designed to streamline the claims resolution process are implemented at a level unfamiliar with individual state requirements, and therefore create inefficiency.

Pros

Great company, Great benefits, good salary, room for advancement and training

Cons

Management is vindictive and targets employees for unvalidated reasons. Working there was a similar experience to those living in North Korea right now. As long as you keep your head down and pray to the great leader, you will be fine. If they think you step out of line, even if you dont, you are harrassed until you are fired or leave. They also have frequent layoffs.

Pros

Job security, learning opportunities, opportunities for those to advance that management chooses, customer satisfaction focused. Busy days go fast, and the work never stops. Team work where you develop relationships with fellow MCM's and CCM's.

Cons

Heavy case inventory, high customer satisfaction requirement with limited time to provide this to customers, inflexible with regards to telecommuting. It is discouraged to provide upper management with clear issues surrounding the day to day issues facing staff. If the issues could be addressed the environment would be improved. High turnover due to burnout.
