I was degraded, discriminated against, singled out, and used as a scapegoat. I am disabled and was told by a supervisor that disabled people don't deserve to live and that we're a waste of resources. A lot of the people who work there are casually racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ect. I came out of this job so much more traumatized than when I went in. It isn't worth it the money. There was also no ladder for me to promote into. If you're a security coordinator, your only options for making more money are to become an officer or pray one of the desk jobs in a different section opens up. After 5 years of working there, I was making the same amount of money as a cadet officer while being expected to do both my job and half of my officer's jobs. I wish that was an exaggeration. They're also not afraid to institutionalize you if you express any hint of mental illness.
