      Pros

      medical, dental and vision benefits are great. the $500 incentive you get every month if you put in at least 24 hours of overtime in a month is great!

      Cons

      the work load. taking time off isn't easy as they tell you. tons of mandatory overtime.

      If you have a good Sgt. it makes life alot easier dealing with inmates.

      Cons

      Mandatory 2 or 3 16 hour shifts was ridiculous a week.

      Hours were flexible for the position at the time and the salary was reasonable. Holidays and time off was great Typically government job… folks don’t work too hard

      Cons

      Government work = politics. Do your work, follow the rules and you aren’t typically negatively impacted.
