Pros

Onsite cafe and gym. Some really cool people work there. There is a roof on the building. Air conditioning. I'm just filling the word requirement here.

Cons

Located in the middle of nowhere. Very political. Awful and I mean awful health benefits that require yearly burning hoops to dive through. I always got the impression that John Silver Spoons Burke thought anybody that isn't a glowing example of health should just die but that's rich coming from someone who has never had to worry about money.

Tough and Rewarding

Pros

Trek aspires to hire only the best employees, which for most means you have brilliant coworkers who are crazily driven. It's an amazing work environment with a lot of energy and a continuous stream of new inventions. The product is truly top in the world and I loved walking in every morning knowing I was going to be doing something fun. They make bikes! Who even gets to do that in life? It's pretty great.

Cons

Certain areas can be a challenge as not all leadership is mature and knowledgeable. Other areas are efficient, highly-focused innovation machines with incredible leadership. Employees typically make regular anonymous reviews of leadership and the company, which it tries to take seriously, but some of the biggest problems are caused by upper management which doesn't seem to review itself, perpetuating some issues indefinitely. Majority of salaries are on pace with the manufacturing industry, so pay is typically lower than what you can find for a comparable position in Madison or Milwaukee. It's a good drive away from Madison, but many employees make decent commutes because it's such a unique culture and work environment.
