Awesome company!

Pros

Benefits are amazing, especially the defined benefit pension which is company funded. The company allows for a great work/life balance as work rarely, if ever, follows me home. Many retirements have occurred over the last few years which allows for great opportunities for younger staff.

Cons

The company is a utility and is slow to change, which is common in the industry. Can run into the "that's the way we've always done it" phrase more frequently than normal.

Most Outstanding Company I've Ever Worked For!

Pros

Highly competitive pay within the Utility industry, as well as other industries. Terrific benefits including a 401K and a very generous Retirement Security Plan for all employees. They also provide employees with discounts for various personal items from cell phone service; to gym memberships; to vehicle purchases, and they have a very generous Educational Assistance Program with minimal requirements from the employee. We also participate in community events and celebrate holidays on-site - which is not typical in a good majority of today's workplaces. I work at headquarters in Westminster, CO and it is a beautiful facility. Our property backs to a large pond where there are areas to take breaks or enjoy your lunch. I have visited two other company facilities and they were both very nice, clean, modern working environments. The people are the friendliest and most helpful I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Management regularly includes me in meetings and decision-making processes, which I appreciate greatly! Tri-State truly values their people and encourages input and open communication from all employees. I highly recommend Tri-State to others!

Cons

Would love to have an on-site cafeteria, but may not be feasible with the number of employees at the facility.
