Pros

Not quick to lay off, not quick to fire, local hospital culture is great

Cons

Changes in structure and salary are promised years before fruition, if at all. Take it with a grain of salt.

Pros

lots of variety of caseload comprehensive education courses for new ICU RNs in small group settings state of the art technology (EPIC with epic chat, smartphones, new monitors, responsive and reliable Rx for emergent meds) push for implementing best practices teaching environment makes you a well rounded ICU RN Reasonable staffing ratios in ICUs and PCUs.

Cons

SIGNIFICANTLY lower pay than the market for Detroit-Ann Arbor Area too many people onboarding at one interval no ancillary staff (phlebotomy, PCTs, EKG techs) to help you in the ICUs. though PCUs do have have techs and RRT support
