Pros

Pay is at the higher end, ability to work from home is what keeps most people there, some really great people to work with, getting better at ensuring the technology is up to date. Prior to the merger, this was an awesome place to work, folks were on track to move up in titles and increase their skill sets.

Cons

Since merger with CHE workloads are increasing, staff levels are shrinking, morale is decreasing, no opportunity for growth (especially for women, unless on the help desk side of things), and promotion plans are being ignored, delayed or cancelled. No overtime pay, on-call is required for most teams and for the mission-critical teams on-call is absolute hell. Management appears to be of the mindset to "whip the horses until they are dead, then replace with fresh ones". Work-life balance is non-existent, expect to be called when on vacation. Expect to have your health impacted and management won't care. Lots of favoritism around training and technical conferences, only the "golden boys" get to go and no cross-training happens from the ones who do go. There's a lot of talk about "resilience" and "work-life balance", but it's all talk, no fall thru. Any physical issues caused by the workload or sleep interruptions due to on-call are written off as HR has deemed all stress as being a "mental health" issue and you'll be advised to do yoga to de-stress.
