Pros
•Pretty decent pay •Work 3 days per week •If you want to learn nursing skills I guess this is a good place to do that
Cons
•Working weekends/nights/holidays •Daily verbal abuse from patients, no support from management •Management pushing the constant task-creep of RNs doing more & more menial tasks, without any additional resources or pay •Upper management chases profits while on-the-ground staff suffer, patients have poor outcomes •This hospital is not unionized, therefore you have no leverage or power to change anything you actually care about Personal recommendation: Experienced RNs should only work hospital bedside with short-term, massively profitable travel agency contracts, or for a unionized hospital where your voice will actually be heard.
