      The salary. Good penalty rates. Shift work can help working families and students.

      Cons

      The most incompetent management team I have ever come across. ESTA seems to attract/promote underperformers who would be laughed out of an interview with private enterprise or any reasonably performing government organisation. Some staff have siren envy and this is the closest they'll ever get to working for an actual emergency service. Can't get the leave we're entitled to.

      People are connected to the essential community service ESTA provides. Employees will give 110% to get the job done.

      Cons

      The senior management is like a revolving door, the churn is almost unbelievable. Consequently, business functions are in constant review, and nothing much really gets done. It has a blame culture and generally does not support its people.
