Pros

The people you work with are great s, and the training and experience is unparallelled.

Cons

The company is very strict about billable time, and making sure everyone is working at least 9 hours a day (Somerville). As a consultant, you'll be competing the same plans and reports multiple times over for different clients - the overall workload is very repetitive. Upward mobility in the consulting group is presented as a structured process based on each person's training, knowledge and performance. In practice, moving up in the group is based on how long you've been at the company, regardless of performance, and personal relationships. Compensation is below average considering the hours you are expected to work each day, and the deep technical expected of each employee. Direct management varies between a few highly knowledgeable managers with extensive professional experience, and managers who have climbed the Triumvirate ladder without getting any outside perspective. If you're getting into the group, learn who is a quality resource and who just drinks the kool-aid, and make sure you know who's calling the shots.

Pros

Fellow environmental specialists are amazing but all you talk about is how horrible the job is. That's how everyone bonds

Cons

This company evades the details of the work you do when going through the interview process. They take advantage of young hopeful environmentalists and throw them into a very environmentally unfriendly field. You are a glorified janitor. You will work in hospitals taking away all of their hazardous waste. This includes body parts and urine. Triumvirate has very little respect for their employees unless they devote their entire life to the job. The job has 0 work life balance. The only way to make money is to have 65+ hour weeks. You start your mornings at 5am and and never know when your day will end. You don't know your schedule so you can never plan appointments. You find out what you are doing 5pm the day before the day the schedule is posted. There is no career advancement. All promotions are based off of people who quit. There is no advancement based off of merit.

This is some pretty surprising feedback. We appreciate your opinion and ultimately feel like this job may not have been the right fit for you from the start. In checking our records for all of 2020, we found that the average hours worked for Environmental Specialists in our NY branch was under 50 hours/week with a daily start time of 6-6:30am. From time to time, schedules do vary depending on workload and there is plenty of opportunity for overtime for those who are willing and able to take it on. We pride ourselves in full clarity during our interview process and try to be as upfront as possible about hours and expectations in each role at TEI. Triumvirate is a challenging, fun and rewarding place to work with plenty of opportunities for growth. It’s unfortunate that your experience was different. Regardless, we appreciate the time you’ve spent with TEI and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Decent starter pay. That's it

Cons

Don't be fooled. They advertise for a machine operator out at their Jeannette location, mon-fri. Daylight, mid shift and night shift. What they don't tell you is that you have to work your way up to title and shift. People starting out get a 2-2-3 schedule, 12hr shift and hard labor for 90 days or more. Instead of machine operating they stick you with slinging piles of melted plastic the entire shift, the smell alone will make you sick. The physical you have to pass says you need to be healthy.......wrong, you need to be physically fit or else it'll wear you down.
