Pros
Steady employment. Health insurance. 401k. You get to go home at 5:00PM. They have nice computers. Most of the credit union people are very nice.
Cons
You'll come aboard at the bottom of one big pyramid, never forget that. It doesn't matter what you know, or who you know, or how hard you work....you are at the back of the bus. CUNA is top heavy with a lot older employees making big salaries and benefits to keep bodies in seats so their 401k's and pensions can grow. That's not cynicism, that's reality. Don't get me wrong, they're nice people but, I didn't see any managers putting in more than 30 hours a week. And that was pre-COVID. Don't try to reach any of them before 10 or after 3. You won't find them unless your branch is on or near a golf course. It's not happening. You are on your own.
