Staff is hardworking, dedicated, and focused on doing the right thing for the customer. Highly collaborative and supportive environment at the peer level. While there are cons, the company as a whole has a noble purpose and it's heart is in the right place. While expense cuts are severe at this time, they are still investing heavily in innovative improvements.

Cons

There is a lack of strong leadership at the VP level and up. There are severe disconnects between Executives and the real-world experience of their customers and employees. Directors and Managers are not empowered to make decisions, rather spend most days navigating politics and bureaucracy. The historically strong culture is being tested by decisions on how to execute expense cuts. While the cuts make business sense, little attention has been spent on change management or treating staff with dignity on the way out. Perks for working at CUNA Mutual are slowly being eliminated.
