Pros

I was paid a generous salary and incentives to move to other locations to help grow the business. Fun atmosphere. Healthy comped meals. Opportunities to try out different roles. You get to say you work for Oprah who is on the board of directors.

Cons

Not a lot of creative opportunities if you are looking to suggest new products or event ideas. Same long held leadership team makes all the primary decisions for all restaurants, making them cookie cutter at every location for the most part. Also, I had trouble when I was having health issues and couldn't negotiate a leave of absence - the primary HR person was rude and pushed me to step down to a lower paid position which I guess protects the labor budget but they lost someone who would have continued to work for them for a long time and expand their sales. Even now my family stays away because it just didn't seem right that they couldn't find coverage for a short time. Too bad they lost a great team worker and positive attitude individual!
